New President and CEO, Jonathan Scott, a revamped corporate identity and rapid adoption of Compliance Monitor product, mark the onset of “PowerTech 2.0”

Kent, WA — Sept. 14, 2006 — The PowerTech Group, Inc., announced today that Jonathan Scott has been appointed the new President & Chief Executive Officer of the company. Mr. Scott brings to the company a deep and broad knowledge of the software industry, with particular experience in new product development, sales and marketing.

Mr. Scott is a seasoned software and technology services executive who previously served as President and CEO of Microserv Technology Services prior to their acquisition by Halifax Corporation (HX:AMEX). Prior to this he was founder and principal of New Venture Associates, a firm providing strategic advisory services to early stage venture funded technology companies. He also served as President and COO of Traveling Software, Inc., a leading communications software company.

The company also announced the release of a new corporate brand identity as well as the launch of its newly designed website, www.powertech.com. “The new brand mark and, by extension, the new website are two tangible examples of how PowerTech is refining its position in the marketplace. The company is already a recognized leader in the security and compliance space and is poised to expand its leadership position,” said the new CEO, Scott.
